About the Position
The Warranty Technician is a member of the warranty and maintenance team, responsible for providing boots on the ground support to address warranty related customer issues, presently to Bedrock Homes, and ultimately to several other clients in the Calgary area.
This position ensures that all customer warranty concerns are analyzed in detail to confirm the faults, identify liability, and determine acceptance ratios. They represent MCW in the field providing warranty services, doing root cause analysis and provide corrective feedback to resolve issues.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accurately investigate and assess warranty submission from customers who have taken possession of their home.
  • Provide detailed analysis of claims and escalate issues where necessary to a higher level to provide information for warranty cost reduction activities.
  • Work with company trade partners and Warranty Coordinators to ensure all outstanding deficiencies are completed.
  • Communicate fault and liability information to the Warranty Manager.
  • Ensure all products flow through the warranty department in a timely manner.
  • Attend regular meetings with Warranty coordinators and the Supervisor to establish an action plan.
  • General repairs; required to provide own hand tools.
  • Document, report, and schedule repairs.
  • Perform Quality Control duties reporting to builder(s)
  • Work on assigned special projects as they arise.
  • Treat the environment as a priority, ensuring all local, provincial, and federal regulations are met or exceeded.
  • Meet or exceed the requirements outlined in the company’s safety program, adopting passion and advocacy for high standards of health and safety.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
  • One (1) or more years of direct work Experience as a Warranty Technician for new home construction or experience in a related role preferred.
  • Ability to work in a paperless environment utilizing multiple online programs and apps.
  • Knowledge and ability to install, maintain and train homeowners on smart home technologies.
  • General repair skills in carpentry, painting, tiling, flooring, etc.
  • Knowledge of building processes and practices.
  • A valid class five (5) driver’s license and personal reliable transportation is required.
  • Criminal Records Check to the company’s satisfaction is required.
  • A clean drivers abstract is required for the operation of company vehicles on public roadways.
  • Manual dexterity is required to work with computers, peripherals, tools, and equipment.
