About the Position:
Reporting to the Legal Manager, the Legal Assistant is a part of the legal team, responsible for supporting various functions and projects within the department.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of closing documents for new home sales.
  • Processing new home sale files.
  • Scheduling possessions of new homes.
  • Preparing condominium disclosure packages.
  • Liaising with condominium boards and property management companies;
  • Assisting with tasks and projects within the Legal/Conveyancing department.
  • Manage utilities which includes confirming amounts based on contracts and working with AP to sort out any issues.
  • Manage Yardi/Yuhu administration, including miscellaneous tasks to assist site staff 
  • Accounts Payable functions by assisting Property Manager with confirming invoice amounts
  • Review AR with site staff on a monthly basis
  • Property reporting, which includes creating monthly reports for each site from information provided by Property Manager/site staff and Yardi
  • General administrative tasks as assigned
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
  • Completed post-secondary education in a related academic field of study.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of general legal experience, with a focus on residential real estate.
  • Familiarity with transfer documents, statements of adjustments, utilizing land titles and tax searches.
  • Knowledge of residential builder work and new condominium disclosure.
  • Experience in property management and/or leasing is considered an asset.
  • Expert knowledge with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • A valid class five (5) driver’s license and personal reliable transportation is required.
  • Criminal Records Check to the company’s satisfaction is required.
  • A clean drivers abstract is required for the operation of company vehicles on public roadways.
