About Us: Ken’s Diner is a 50s‑inspired eatery located in the heart of Schonsee and operated by Lifestyle Options Retirement Communities. We take pride in serving fresh, high‑quality ingredients, offering nutritious daily specials alongside timeless diner classics that appeal to guests of all ages.
The Opportunity: We’re looking for a Line Cook to join our Ken’s Diner team on a full-time basis. In this role, you are responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner under the direction of the Head Chef.
What you’ll do:
Prepare and plate cold foods following menu guidelines.
Operate kitchen equipment, including the Rational Oven.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and meet safety/sanitation standards.
Support chefs with meal prep for daily service and special events.
Help with dishwashing, garbage, and food deliveries as needed.
Stay organized and ready to assist with upcoming tasks.
Qualifications:
One (1) year experience working in a similar setting (required).
Basic Food Safety (required).
Knowledge of safety, sanitation, WHMIS, Food Safety.
Familiar with use of kitchen equipment and hand tools.
Ability to Prep food items according to production lists and menu requirements.
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
