The Opportunity: We’re looking for a Dietary Aide to join our Lifestyle Options - Schonsee team on a casual basis. In this role, you will prepare high‑quality food efficiently and safely in a fast‑paced kitchen environment while staying organized, working collaboratively with the team, and adhering to all safety procedures.
What you’ll do:
Prepare hot and cold food safely, accurately, and on time.
Plate meals for residents, including those with allergies or special dietary needs.
Follow portion guidelines and presentation standards set by the Head Chef.
Restock food, beverages, and condiments throughout the shift.
Wash dishes between meal periods and keep all stations clean and sanitary.
Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, coolers, and storage areas.
Qualifications:
Minimum two (2) years of experience in a commercial kitchen.
Strong English communication skills and the ability to follow recipes accurately.
Solid knowledge of food safety, sanitation, WHMIS, proper knife, and equipment use.
Strong work ethics, positive team attitude, and ability to work safely with required PPE.
Culinary training or experience cooking for seniors considered an asset.
