Team Lead, Licensed Practical Nurse (Full-time) - Terra Losa

We are currently searching for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Team Lead to join our team. This is a full-time shift position at our Terra Losa location.
 
Position Summary:
The LPN Team Lead is responsible for planning nursing care in an assigned area as required by individualized client needs and according to dependent and independent nursing functions while adhering to recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction of the Director of Care.
Time Allocation - 90% of time is spent on the floor (unit), with staff and residents and up to 10% of time may be spent on paperwork/administration, if required

What You Bring to the Role:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Member in good standing of the recognized Licensing Body of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Current Healthcare Provider training.
  • Current CPR and First AID Certification
  • Minimum 5 years in nursing in a seniors assisted living environment preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience considered an asset.
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Delivers, practices, and role-models person-centered care and treats residents and families as equal partners in the planning of care and respects and upholds their opinions.
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence
  • Must demonstrate effective communication skills
  • Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and are able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and be directly responsible for the nursing department
  • In consultation with the Director of Care, implements and enforces company policies, procedures and requirements to their assigned nursing unit.
  • Assist with move in/out of DSL, Home Care, and independent clients
  • Performing duties and services required by the Client Service Care Plan
  • Supervising and coordinating client service plans and staff assignments
  • Performing duties as per company policies and CLPNA scope of practice
  • Delegating authorized nursing tasks to staff and ensuring safe appropriate care is provided
  • Maintaining supplies and inventory including requesting supply orders
  • Communicating with family, AHS, healthcare agencies, physicians and others regarding the needs and wellbeing of the residents
